About This Project
This Wellesley colonial had a dated oak staircase with turned wood balusters that the homeowner wanted to modernize. We replaced the treads with new white oak, painted the risers white, replaced all balusters with wrought iron, and installed new box newel posts at the top and bottom landings.

Iron balusters are attached with a metal shoe at the tread and a metal cap at the handrail. The installation is secure and does not require any structural modification.
